ShockWave is a monophonic Synthesizer that offers a modular-style workflow for iOS and AUv3 plugins. It features Phase Distortion (PD) Synthesis, with two PD Oscillators capable of producing various waveforms, including Sine Waves, Sawtooth Waves, Square Waves, Resonance & Sync sweeps, and filtered Noise. In addition to the Synth Voice, ShockWave includes a control section with two 8-step sequencers, a sample & hold module, and modules for trigger divisions, logic comparisons, and controlled randomness. The modulation sources consist of two Low Frequency Oscillators (LFOs) and two Attack/Sustain/Release (ASR) Envelopes. These can be triggered from internal sources or connected to each other for versatile patching options. The LFOs can be tempo-synced and offer five different waveforms each. The two sequencers can operate independently or combine into a 16-step sequence with adjustable rate and length for each. ShockWave allows for extensive modulation capabilities, with up to 11 sources and multiple modulations possible simultaneously. Modulations are easily set up by selecting a control and adjusting the desired amount from the available sources. The X-Ray mode provides a real-time display of active modulations for better understanding of the synthesis process. The Synth Voice and Control Section are accompanied by built-in Delay and Reverb sections, which can be modulated as well. The send levels are also available as mod destinations. Furthermore, ShockWave offers comprehensive MIDI support, including aftertouch, velocity, wheels, custom CC mappings, and full compatibility with MPE controllers like Roli Seaboard, Linnstrument, Geoshred, KB-1, among others. It supports MIDI Output for controlling external MIDI devices or chaining multiple instances of the plugin.
